All albino genes are recessive and require both parents to carry the gene in order to produce more albinos. There are three different albino strains: Tremper, Bell, and Rainwater. Mixing albino strains will not create more albinos and is highly frowned upon. The different strains cause slight differences in appearance of adults, however this will not be discussed here. This page is specifically on Tremper albinos since they are the only strain of albino we've worked with.

Tremper albinos hatch out with yellow/orange and pink bands. Because we've only worked with Jungle Tremper albinos, ours do not have bands, and instead have random patterns.

The pink on the hatchling will fade as it ages..

The irregular patterns of a Jungle will show nearly all throughout the time it is growing. As Juveniles, they do not look much different from when they were hatchlings. Sometimes the pink areas will fade to white completely, and sometimes they will continue to be pink/lavendar.

But as they become full-grown adults, you may not be able to recognize their Jungle pattern any longer.

Although some grow to be full adults without ever losing their Jungle pattern. They too do not look much different than they did as hatchlings.
